Moving On

For the last two months, I took a position as a practice manager at a less than ideal office.  For 16 years, I worked for a cardiologist until he retired.  Out of desperation, I took a job working for a plastic surgeon in a very ritzy part of the city.  He paid me very well, but he treated me horribly.  The patients were self absorbed, rude and classless.  I now understand the meaning of "new money."  They were young, arrogant and crude.  He ran specials with the local modeling agencies.  Sorry to rant, but it was just a nightmare for me.

Anyway, last night I had an interview with a fantastic general practitioner.  From the moment I walked in, I knew I found my new home.  He hired me on the spot and I start in two weeks.  This morning at 4:30AM, I sent a text to the jerk plastic surgeon simply stating "I Quit!"  He never responded.

I am so excited!

My First Post

Hey Y'all this is my first post.  I thought I'd tell you a little about myself.  I'm a recovering shopaholic.  Some people say that as a joke, but I can really say that I had a problem.  I love clothes, makeup, furniture, etc....  Almost a year ago, I lost my job of over 16 years.  It was really tough.  My husband and I had a lot of credit card debt (almost $50,000) due to my shopping addiction.  We really had to cut back and start living on a budget.  I started cutting coupons and trying to live frugally.  My first feat was to cut Nordstrom out of my life completely.  It was tough, but we owed Nordstrom Bank $7,000.00.  I didn't need all of the pricey clothes that I was buying.  I realized that there were tons of things in my closet that I didn't need and the price tags were still on half of them.  I've learned the meaning of necessity.

My blog is going to be my outlet about my problem and the day to day "financial" dilemnas that I now face.  I am very frugal now and I love bragging about ways that I've saved money.  I love reading blogs and I'm sure that I will be following a lot of you.  I look forward to making a lot of new friends.

Thanks for reading!
